AI discounts

Promi contains a powerful machine learning model that can automatically adjust discounts in real time to optimize around a merchant's objectives. In this guide, we'll review the steps to creating a discount powered by artificial intelligence and the configurations you are able to set to better optimize toward your goals.
Collecting data for your store's AI model
Once you've completed setup, Promi will automatically start collecting data from your visitors to train an AI model. This data includes views, transactions, traffic sources, device types, geography, time, and more. Typically Promi needs a week of data collections before the AI model is ready to apply to a discount. The AI discount option in the Create Campaign page will appear as unavailable during this time.
Creating an AI discount campaign
Once the AI model is ready, you'll need to create a campaign and select "Leverage Promi’s AI model to optimize discounts for each visitor" in the "Personalization" card.

AI discount parameters
In the next card, you can configure the AI model to better optimize toward your goals. The only required fields are "Minimum discount" and "Maximum discount". This is the range of discounts that the AI model will offer visitors. Typically the average redeemed discount per order is close to the midpoint of this range, but this is not guaranteed.
"Minimum product margin" ensures that Promi does not offer a discount that reduces the product margin below this threshold. This guardrail will override the min/max discount range set above.
"Replace existing compare-at price discounts" allows you to remove any compare-at price fields that you have set. Promi will set the price to the current compare-at price and then apply the discount to the new higher price. This comes in useful if a merchant wants to replace a sales section with personalized discounts.
"Round to the nearest" is fairly self-explanatory, but you can use this to round any discounts offered to specific values.
"Days to persist discount" determines how many days we will keep the discount the same for an individual after they first see the offer. We typically recommend a minimum of 3 days to avoid customers seeing too many price changes.
