Discount campaigns

Now that Promi is set up on your store, you're ready to create your first discount campaign. "Campaigns" in Promi refer to a discount(s) + experiment + UX configuration. Campaigns are the bread and butter of Promi, so they'll be important to get familiar with!
Create a new campaign
To start, select the "Create campaign" option on the campaigns table on the Promi home page.
Fill out discount details in the "Discounts" tab
Campaign Title
Fill in a campaign title. This will not be customer-facing, so you can label the campaign as descriptively as you like.
Amount off Products
Select either "discount code" or "automatic discount" in the next card. These options behave just like other code and automatic Shopify discounts. Codes will require users to input a code either at checkout or via deep link. Automatic discounts will automatically appear to visitors, though you can configure who will see them in the "Personalization" step. Enter a discount title or code. These names will be seen by the customer, so we recommend that they are friendly and marketable. You'll also have the option of generating a random code if you are experiencing severe writer's block.
All discounts created in Promi are considered "Product" discounts. Don't worry, you can still create discounts that will apply across the whole store.
Personalization
Now to the fun stuff. The personalization card allows you to specify specifically who the discount is eligible to. We have separate guides to go into detail on our AI model and the custom targeting logic.
The last option here, "Eligible to all visitors", will allow you to create a discount that is eligible to everyone. Why bother using Promi to do this you might ask? Apart from personalization, Promi offers a powerful A/B testing platform and UX components to trigger price strikethroughs and discount descriptions. Many merchants create non-personalized discounts and still take advantage of these tools.
AI Discount Parameters
If you selected the option to create an AI discount in the "Personalization" card, this card will display. See our AI-discounts guide for more details on each of these parameters.
Discount
If you selected the "specify eligible visitors" option in the "Personalization" card, this card will display. See our Custom Targeting guide for more details on these parameters.
Experiment control group
Select an option here to set up a control group for your campaign. The first two options will expose 50% of traffic to the selected control type.
"Fixed discount" means that all visitors within the 50% control group will see the same discount value, which can be specified in the text field. This is useful in measuring the impact of personalization relative to a standard discount.
"No discount" means that visitors within the 50% control group will receive no discount. This can be useful if you want to understand how much profit / revenue a personalized campaign can drive relative to a no discount option.
"Status quo" is only available if users select "Replace existing ‘compare-at’ price discounts" in the "AI discount parameters" card. This will compare the personalized discount to whatever the existing compare-at sales are on each item.
Minimum purchase requirements
This card behaves just like Shopify's native discount creation form. Specify either no minimum, a minimum value of the eligible items, or a minimum quantity of eligible items. Note that these minimums only apply to the items eligible for the discount, not the visitor's whole basket.
Maximum discount uses
This card behaves just like Shopify's native discount creation form. Limit the total uses of the discount and the number of times an individual can use the discount. Note that Promi does not check whether a user has redeemed a discount when determining whether to show them a discount.
Combinations
This card behaves just like Shopify's native discount creation form. Select which types of discounts you would like this discount to stack with. If a discount is configured to stack, Promi will show the combined discount to customers in collections and product pages.
